Helmut Newton aka Helmut Neustädter Born on October 31st 1920 and he died in a car accident in Los Angeles California on January 23rd 2004)
He was a German/ Australian photographer known for his provocative and erotically charged black-and-white fashion and nude photography that were widely published in Vogue and other publications. in the past 30 years , many of my kind fans have compared my work to this legendary photographer, but the truth of the matter is that I did not even know who Helmut Newton was , when people were giving me such compliments, and when I was finally introduced to his work, I noticed many similarities, yet many differences that sets us apart at a glance, and that’s what I like to think of my work and Helmut’s. He was truly a genius and a pioneer of his time. Simplicity of his beautiful lighting and the stark black and white images that will never be produced or immitated by anyone else.
Rest in peace dear Helmut and thank you for giving many of us photographers hope and inspiration
